Organization gone MAD!!!!

This week I have been an organizational queen!! I believe this is nesting, forget cleaning the house or even going crazy planning the nursery - although I have been doing lots of that too! This week is all about binders!

On Tuesday night I made a pertinent documents binder. I spent about four hours making sure that if something happened to me Cody would know what to do. Or, if something happened to Cody and I simultaneously that someone could pick up this binder and know what our wishes were.

As if that wasn't enough for one week, I went on the search for the perfect planner. While seeking that out, my awesome friend Catherine shared a blog with me that her friend did a blog post where she made a Home Organizational Binder. SOOOOO, I set out to make one too. By Friday, I had all the tabs created, pages printed and I was debating on whether or not to have it bound at Kinkos. I settled on just using a binder for now so I can easily refill the pages. Once I get into the habit of using it I may eventually have it bound and use front/back printed pages ;) The categories for The Berry's Organizational Binder are:

Daily Checklist
Weekly Chores
Meals/Recipes
Exercise
Goals
Kingston
Quotes/Bible Versus
Notes

I want to use this binder to organize every day house management. With Cody's new work schedule 1pm-9pm starting October 1st; I want to use the evenings to make sure I have the house chores/meal planning/couponing/blogging etc. caught up. This way every weekend can be a fun weekend without the non-sense of house stuff.

I also want to use the next three months to get a routine established again. I have been terrible during pregnancy with not cooking, couponing and Cody has done all the cleaning & laundry too. I still want his help of course, but I want us to get into a routine so that when Kingston comes he can have mommy & daddy's complete attention and quality time on the weekends! ;)

And if that still wasn't enough OCD'ness for the week. Catherine and I have decided to get our freezer cooking on too. On October 2nd our adventure will begin. We are each going to choose several meals and buy the ingredients. We are going to cook ALL day and make a double batch of the recipes and then swap them with each other. So, we should have about 15-20 meals EACH to store in the freezer! I am pretty excited to see how this turns out!

My meals are:

Baked Rigatoni
Chicken Rotel
Spinach Quiche
Mexican Meatloaf
Turkey Chili
Chicken Jambalaya
Chicken & Sausage Gumbo
Chicken Pot Pie
Garlic Meatloaf

I'm excited to see how this works out, and if it all goes according to plan, I would love to make this an every other month tradition.

Who said shopping for a boy wasn't fun? I have added this to the list of what I want to buy Kingston. Just need to decide what size I want to get it in ;) I'm thinking this would look cute in his 1 year photographs!!

Kingston's Bedding/Nursery Ideas

We finally decided on baby fabric and wall color!! Woo hoo!! I have a few other ideas that I want to incorporate as well and I am posting those pictures too! Comments, suggestions, etc are welcome!!

Wall color up close.

Funky fabric that is not part of bedding, but will be used for fabric bookshelves seen on etsy & pinterst! May use it in the curtains as well.

Here is an example of a fabric bookshelf!

All of it together. Bottom fabric will be the skirt, small polka dots will be outside of bumper, and inside of bumper will alternate solid color blue, polka dot, solid color orange throughout the inside 4 bumper pads.

I am super excited and blessed to have an amazing friend Catherine who is always my idea bouncer and fashionista to help with this fun stuff. Also, props to my enthused hubby for wanting to be involved as well! ;)

Here are a few ideas of things that I would like throughout the nursery too!

Super cute owl set that match the blue in the fabric. I think I need these!

I love these bins for toys, etc. Not this fabric, but maybe use the same as the bookshelves or bedding to match ;)

LOVE this book - Where the Wild Things Are - and love this framed artwork!

Super cute letter that I am thinking would look fabulous over his bed.

Week 23 Baby Bump Shoot

KINGSTON News!

How Far Along: 23 weeks

Size of baby: 11 inches long from head to heel, weighing in at about a pound. About the size of a large mango.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 0 per the doctor's scale and mine said a little gain. I will go with the doctor's ;) Total gain is 16.6 pounds

Movement: I feel the him move every day! ;)

Maternity Clothes: Wearing maternity clothes pretty much all the time. I wore a non-maternity skirt and top last week and at about 3pm I was miserable in the tightness.

Sleep: Sleeping pretty sound about 9-10 hours a night. Wake up at least once, sometimes twice to potty.

Question/comment of the week: "How are you feeling?" I'm also starting to get looks from strangers that aren't sure if I'm pregnant or fat. I looked at a lady yesterday and just said "Pregnant" since she was staring!

What I miss: Intense exercise and being able to go go go all day every day like I used to. I just can't push myself like I used to.

Cody'ism of the week: Cody talking to my belly and telling Kingston all kinds of different stories! Oh, and that daddy is going to teach him to play baseball!

Today's doctor appointment: Heart beat was 138 and he is measuring right on time!

Chicago Trip Labor Day Weekend!

We were invited to meet our buddies Chad & Krable in Chicago for a bachelor/bachelorette party. We've had it planned for a very long time and were looking forward to hanging out with our friends!

Saturday:

We flew out of Nashville and landed at Midway. Chad & Krable picked us up with pumpkin bars in hand ;) We drove to the hotel, got checked in and freshened up. They went to the bar for a drink and I napped so I could hang that night. We hopped on the train and headed to Wrigleyville for dinner. We were searching for a bar called Merckle's. it is an Iowa Hawkeye bar and so we wandered into a bar that we thought was Merckle's but it wasn't it was John Barleycorn's. We ate dinner and watched some football and had fun catching up ;) We caught the train back - did I mention the guys whined because the train ride was about an hour and they lost their buzz?! wah wah. The ride home had some interesting characters. Love me some people watching.

Sunday:

We left the hotel at 10 to head to the game. this time we took the train and then hopped a bus to Wrigleyville. it was much faster - about 40 minutes. We met up with a few other people there for the celebration at the Cubby Bear. Then, we walked over to the rooftop. We rented space at Brixen Ivy which is a rooftop that overlooks the baseball field. It was all you can eat food and drinks and was great for mingling. We watched the game, ate and had great conversations! After the game we went to a bar called the Full Shilling. I partied until about 8 and then became the designated direction giver ;) I rode the bus and train back to the hotel with another couple that went to the game too. Cody stayed out and partied it up until 1am, while I took a long bath, ate pumpkin bars and drank Gatorade!

Monday:

We woke at 6am, bright and early to catch out flight back home. Thanks goodness Chad & Krable took us to Midway because a cab would have been $120, yikes! We tipped our chauffeurs, hugged their necks and are making plans for the next visit. Them coming to Nashvegas to meet Kingston! ;)

We hate that we will miss their wedding, set for December 30; but hopefully, we will have a little bundle by then.
