Week 12 Baby Bump Shoot

Cojac News!

How Far Along: 12 weeks

Size of baby: Over 2 inches long, about the size of a lime

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Down 2 pounds (which is amazing considering I have been eating crap!!)

Movement: None yet!

Maternity Clothes: None yet! But, still liking my summer dresses and stretch clothes!

Sleep: Sleeping pretty good now. Sundays have become my nap days. Literally, the last two Sundays I have not left the bed/couch until 6 at night. I always feel so refreshed on Monday!!

Question/comment of the week: "How do you feel?" "You look really good"

What I miss: EXERCISE!!!! I am missing running long hard and fast!!!

Cody'ism of the week: Every morning he send me a text that says "Good morning mommy and Cojac!!! Cojac, be good and don't make mommy sick today" They always make me smile!!

What is the baby doing: The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

GOD is always in charge!!!

So, one thing I have come to realize ALL to well is that HE is always in charge and no matter what my plan may be his is always what WILL be.

A dear sweet friend of mine helped me acknowledge this little fact...

On April 17 I wrote a blog post "What this weekend could have been" the short of it is that I was sad reflecting what that date would have been. That would have been our due date had IVF worked.

Well, God proved once again that he is in charge..... that was the night we conceived sweet baby Cojac. God is good, ALL the time!

We went to the doctor today and I heard THE MOST AMAZING SOUND EVER sweet baby Cojac's heartbeat!! It was strong and healthy at 170 bpm. So in love already ;)

Elevator Story

So, today I ran to the bank during lunch as I got on the elevator it stopped on the way down and a lady got on. Here is how our conversation went down after I apparently touched my stomach - although I think it was more of me tugging on my semi-short dress.

Lady: Are you pregnant?

Me: I looked at her like she had seven heads and then said "Yes"

Lady: Well I just wanted to tell you, that its a boy.

Me: Really? Why do you say that?

Lady: Your skin is glowing and vibrant.

Me: Thinking in my head - "Nut bag, do you think your psychic??" Actually saying "Ohhhh, ok" - We exit the elevator -

Lady: Put your purse down....

Me: I'm in a rush

Lady: It will only take a minute. Give me your wrists.

Me: Ok.

Lady: Be quiet, let me listen.

Me: Thinking..... "WIERDO!!!!"

Lady: Well, its definite. This is a surefire way to tell - and ALWAYS works. Your having a girl!!!

Me: Oh really? Yeah everyone has their little superstitious things with pregnancy.

Lady: Well, this works for sure. It's a girl.

Me: Oh ok, thanks! Walking away thinking LOONEY TOON!!!!

What a quack.... I can't wait to see how many of "these" stories I have once I actually have a bump!!! ;)

Week 10 Baby Bump Shoot

Cojac News!

How Far Along: 10 weeks

Size of baby: Approximately 1.25-1.68 inches long, about the size of a small plum, and weighs close to .18 ounces

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Not sure - at the beach with no scale but I feel like I have gained a little back - official weigh in next week

Movement: None yet!

Maternity Clothes: None yet! But, still liking my summer dresses and stretch clothes!

Sleep: I'm still not sleeping too well at nights, but I have been snuggling and taking naps with Bailee this week!

Question/comment of the week: "How do you feel?" From Cody - "Are you going to puke?"

What I miss: Eating healthy food still and full meals in general!

Cody'ism of the week: "Wow, you look less and less pregnant every day, have you lost more weight?" I only write this so that when I am as big as shamu I will remember this and laugh! ;)

I've had a relaxing week at the beach. Its definitely not past years where I jumped up every morning, went for a walk/run and then sat on the beach for hours on end. There are slower walks, minimal beach time and more napping and lounging ;) But, still a great trip!!

We told our cousins the Bourgeois about the news at the beach by way of a cookie cake after we ate lunch. There were lots of happy tears! ;)

The OB ER Visit

I'M AAAAAALLLLIIIVVVVEEEEEEE!!!!

So, the doctor called yesterday to check on me and said that she scheduled me to get some iv fluids. The conversation went like this:

Anne: How are you feeling?

Me: The same, still yucky.

Anne: Okay, I'm going to schedule you an ER visit to get some IV fluids.

Me: Well, what if I promise to drink a gallon of liquids today?

Anne: How many ounces have you drank so far?

Me: About 6 or 8.

Anne: Jaclyn, its 1pm, quit negotiating.

Me: Ok, when are where should I be?

So, I showed up at the ER at 3 and got all checked in. Cody got off work at 3:30 so he came to sit with me. They gave me two bags of fluids, some AMAZING headache medicine (which I can not spell) and Zofran via IV all was great. I left very tired but feeling like a rockstar!!

While we were there we heard a ladies water break and her screaming from contractions.....I admit - I was freaked out!! Yikes!

The cute little monkey that Cody brought to me after he got some food! We love the idea of a sock monkey nursery or just monkey's in general ;)

I woke up this morning and still feel good. I am going to drink as much as possible -Hopefully an entire gatorade and 20 oz of water is the goal!!

I ate some tater tots for breakfast and feeling good ;) What's for lunch you ask? Well, my favorite staple of course.... 1/2 of a PB&J and half of a pop tart if I can manage them both!!

Week 9 Baby Bump Shoot

Cojac News!

How Far Along: 9 weeks

Size of baby: Approximately 1 inch, about the size of a grape

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Lost 6.5 pounds

Movement: None yet!

Maternity Clothes: None yet! But, I REALLY love wearing all my stretch clothes!! ;)Much more comfy!!

Sleep: I didn't sleep well last night - been up since 3:23 this morning. But, slept 17 hours on Friday and slept on and off all weekend!

Question/comment of the week: "What did the doctor say?" "How do you feel?"

What I miss: Eating HEALTHY food! I would love to eat a salad or piece of fruit!! The thought of eating anything other then cheeze-its, dry fruit loops or hashbrowns makes me want to puke!

This week was a little bit of a roller coaster. I woke up Friday SICK AS A DOG. I literally could not roll out of bed!! Thank goodness Cody was off work and was there to take care of me ;) He got me the garbage can and a cold rag. I woke up 2 or 3 times and he was standing at the end of the bed staring at me. All he kept saying was "You don't look good at all!" Well, yes, thank you honey I DO feel and apparently look like death. The doctor called in phenegran and I was knocked out cold for almost 17 hours!

On Sunday I had a little spotting, but didn't go into full panic. I called the doctor who was on call - and just happened to be my doctor ;) She told me to call if things changed but she wanted to see me Monday at 8am.

On Monday I went to the doctor still feeling like death and she examined me and said things looked good in regards to the spotting but she wanted an u/s to be on the safe side. She also suggested that I get IV fluids this week before the beach because I was very dehydrated. So, I left her office and FELL in the parking garage - just awesome! I sat and cried...pity party table for one. I went to the ultrasound at 1 and Cody snuck over from the hospital to be there too ;) Things looked great! The heartbeat of Cojac was 176 and he/she is growing just great!!
