I saw this on a blog I follow and thought I would do a post as well ;)
My Instinct: From the moment we walked out of the doctor's office I thought it was a girl. After several people telling me their opinions and doing some "Internet" test (because those are reliable, ha!) I was dead set it was a girl. BUT, I am back to thinking it is a boy for sure. Maybe, we are willing Cojac to be a boy since that is the only name we have picked out? BOY
Dreams : So, I've heard both sides - if you dream it's a girl, then you will have a boy; if you dream boy, you will have a girl. But, I've also heard what you dream is what you get. This one helps a whole lot - huh? I've had one baby dream early on maybe week 9 or so and I dreamed it was a boy with chubby cheeks and puckered lips. Since it was a vivid dream I'm going to say..... BOY
Cravings: Grape slushies with intensity, blueberry pancakes and hash browns - really potatoes of any kind, mashed potatoes, hash browns,fries, any, really!! Although I have has some cravings for fruit too, granny smith green apples, bananas and grapes. Not sure, I've had a few friends crave slushies that had boys? Kind of a tie, because I crave salty and sweet but based on the slushies.... BOY.
Heart Rate: Has been 178 & 158. Old wives tales say if its less than 140, it means boy, over 140 means a girl. So, so I would say GIRL.
Shape of Belly: This one is no help. I;m really not showing yet, I have what I call a "front butt" just a pooch and my same chubbiness before pregnancy! I do feel like my chest, and thighs have gained which would mean a GIRL
Hair on Legs: Apparently hair grows faster than before pregnancy = boy. My leg hair seems to have slowed down! So.... GIRL
Ring Test: If the ring goes in circles, you're expecting a boy. If the ring goes side to side you are expecting a girl. Ours went in a circle. BOY
Side I rest on: I typically lay on my right side, so this means GIRL
Morning Sickness: Oh terribly sick in the beginning and now feeling good although I have a few moments every now and then. This means GIRL.
Nose: If your nose seems to have grown wider = boy. My nose has not grown wider (yet). I guess GIRL
Headaches: If you are prone to headaches, which I have one often almost daily.... BOY
Chinese Gender Chart: Several said boy and Once said girl.... So, BOY.
Girl: 6
Boy: 6
Haha! Well, looks like its tied!! Either way its a baby ;) We will see in one week!! A healthy baby is all I want and will be happy with what God has choosen for us!

Week 18 Baby Bump Shoot
Cojac News!
How Far Along: 18 weeks
Size of baby: 5.5 inches long, 7 ounces, about the size of a bell pepper!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 3.8 - total gained 7.4 (I think my scale is off, I weighed yesterday and was 2 pounds lighter?!?!) But, I will just go with it. My book says I should be somewhere between a 10-13 pound weigh gain, so I am still under that curve ;) Plus last week and the next two weeks are big growth spurts for sweet baby Cojac!
Movement: I felt the baby on Sunday night. I was almost asleep and rolled over onto my tummy and felt a huge kick - Probably Cojac saying, mom - roll over you're smothering me!!! HA! I ran to tell Cody but haven't felt anything since then;)
Maternity Clothes: Starting to pull out maternity clothes that I bought and wearing them. They are still a little big, but ohhhhh so comfy!!! Still wearing most of my normal clothes too, but maybe just for another few weeks.
Sleep: Sleeping pretty sound about 9-10 hours a night. Except for potty breaks!
Question/comment of the week: "When do you find out the gender?"
What I miss: Intense exercise still.....
Cody'ism of the week: Cody's sweet text: "Love u! Have a great day and tell Cojac that daddy wants to feel his new trick!" I think Cody is willing Cojac to be a boy ;) HA! Cody has been such a great help, he has done most of the house cleaning, all the laundry and most of the cooking as well. Such a great husband and daddy!!

Sickness and Psychics!!
I have been sick for about a week now with ear, nose, throat and head congestion. I spent Friday at 4:30pm until Saturday at 6pm in the bed. I left the house Sunday for church and then lounged the rest of the day. It's sucky being pregnant and not being able to combat a cold/sinus stuff!!
Last Thursday a group of girls from work went to see a psychic! I'm not sure how I feel about all of it, but I joined them. My goal walking into it was to not show facial expression and not to talk, just to let the girl tell me what she saw. Here is the gist of our fifteen minute conversation:
I shuffled the cards, she used her medallion and dealt the cards out into 4 groups.
1. There is an old boyfriend whose heart I broke that has not completely gotten over me. He will show up in my life again sometime soon. I am fine with the break up and rarely gave him a second thought but he often still thinks of me.
2. There is a big change in my life about to occur. Without me saying a word, she tells me I am pregnant. FREAKY.... this is where I began to think "Holy cow!!!" She told me that I am stressed to much (I actually had four stress cards!) She told me that I stress a lot about what I eat, etc. with the baby.
3. She told me I am very close with an older woman - my mom - and that we have a very close relationship, but I am worried about her because she has been sick lately. (side note: my mom has had pneumonia several times in the last two years)
4. She told me I am content with my career, but that I am still stressed out with new changes in my home life.
THEN, she says she knows the gender of my baby and asks if I want to know ..... to which I say "Sure!" She says its a boy. I then asked if the baby would be healthy. She replied Yes! She said that she got chills when I asked that questions because I know unhealthy babies (side note: yes about 120 of my clients are medical malpractice cases from child birth)but she said my son would be healthy.
We shall see.

Week 16 Baby Bump Shoot

Size of baby: 4.5 inches long, 3.5 ounces, about the size of an avocado
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained .4 - total gained 3.0
Movement: None yet!
Maternity Clothes: Starting to pull out maternity clothes that I bought and wearing them. They are still a little big, but ohhhhh so comfy!! I think I am just excited to wear them; although probably not for long! Still liking my summer dresses and stretch clothes!
Sleep: Sleeping pretty sound about 9-10 hours a night. Except for potty breaks!
Question/comment of the week: "You are glowing!" "When do you find out the gender?"
What I miss: Intense exercise still.....
Cody'ism of the week: A sweet moment, I drug Cody to a consignment sale and we walked around looking at the cute baby things. He asked "Isn't that hazardous to leave the baby in the bathtub alone?" To which I brushed off until I realized he was seriously contemplating leaving Cojac in a blow up duck bathtub inside the actual bathtub and not staying by his/her side. We died laughing!!! I told him he was never bathing our child. ;)

A wittle bitty scare from Cojac!
On Wednesday I woke up with cramps and bleeding. I was a little concerned but not overly freaked out. I showered and then headed to the doctor. The cramps got worse so I became more concerned.
On the drive in, I called and my doctor Anne was off for the day. So another doctor was going to see me. When I was 10 minutes away, the nurse Patsy called and told me to go for an ultrasound and then come to the office that Anne would meet me there.... and that's when I lost it. I asked why Anne was coming in on her day off to see me?! I was crying asking Patsy was something wrong was I miscarrying?! She said "I'm not sure, get the ultrasound and come here."
Well, that was not reassuring. So, I sat in my car, cried a little, prayed a lot and then sat hoping nothing was wrong.
The ultrasound showed baby Cojac flipping around like an acrobat with a heartbeat of 158. I was relieved and cried again.
I went to Anne's office and the verdict was that my placenta is low and sitting on my cervix and causing bleeding. Also, my colon was inflamed, so I need to stay away from nuts and seeds and drink water water water. Nothing to be worried about for now. Nothing high impact and just relax. We hope that as my uterus expands the placenta will pull up and all will be well.
Here is sweet Little Cojac at W14D1. That profile looks like non other than.... Cody Berry!!!! ;)
